Bush envisions U.S. presence in Iraq like S.Korea:

So, President Bush said today that he sees the U.S. providing military security in Iraq for the next 50 years. Sure. Tell that to the Iraqi's who, once their state has totally collapsed or has been taken off our hands, gratefully, by a new dictator, will see to it that the only Americans left in Iraq are dead Americans. When that day comes, which won't be long now, this crowd of superannuated empire builders, too busy shoving democracy down the Iraqis' throats through killing and torture to notice, will be heading for the exits faster than those fleeing a burning movie theatre. We're cooked, no matter what.

Jerry Falwell, (1933-2007), on reasons for the 9/11 attack: "I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'"

JERRY FALWELL, DEAD AT 73
Good riddance. May the fat fuck burn in hell, at least until the lion lies down with the lamb in Iraq, which means for all eternity.

LAST THROES OF THE BUSH-CHENEY-NEOCON INSURGENCY?

With less than a year and a half to go you can be sure that these two wanna-be dictators will be pulling out all the stops to insure that their evil legacy will have a permanent impact on our democracy: No better way to achieve that than to create a state of perpetual war. Look at Cheney these past two days... in Iraq trying to strong-arm the Iraqi's into doing things his way and now, today, shaking his fist at the Iranians. In the meantime, American soldiers and innocent Iraqi citizens continue to die in a war that, itself, continues to solidify terrorists resolve to do us permanent and lasting harm. These two executive branch criminals are washed up, which is exactly what makes them so dangerous. No one will listen to them, but people would be forced to listen to any new shock and awe show that they decided to stage. We need indictments. Hopefully, the next president will have them prepared so that they can be issued immediately following the January '07 swearing-in and before this group leaves the White House grounds bound for their undisclosed locations.

THE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT'S DUE DEPT:

You got to hand it to the Republicans. Every once in a while they come up with a good idea.

Following the Virginia Tech massacre two weeks ago Rush Limbaugh and a few others stated, flat out, that this tragedy could have been prevented if the victims had had guns and that if the students were to arm themselves they could defend themselves against such crazy people. The beauty of it all is that then the crazy person would know that others might have guns and wouldn't attempt such massacres seeing that would definitely be killed, and no one's THAT crazy. It all makes such perfect since, which is why us Democrats didn't think of it first. We're a bunch of weaklings, you have to admit, and as recent as early 2003 when over 200 voted against the authorization to go to war in Iraq on the basis that there was no evidence that Sadaam had WMD, which, of course, we know he had. We even knew where they were hidden.

By the same logic, if we were truly interested in making our lives more secure, we would hand out box-cutters to everyone boarding a plane in this country. I can assure you that had everyone aboard the three airplanes that slammed into the WTC and the Pentagon on September 11th been been prepared with a fresh set, no one would have been killed that day, with the exception of the terrorists, of course, who would have been ripped to sheds by great Americans who would have had a lot more to say than "let's roll."
